Wrote... Iworked with Gus Daymond for two years, and there was no more modest or perfect gentleman than he. He rarley mentioned his service either in the Eagle Squadron or the USAF. And, he never told anyone that he was an Ace. Gus passed away a few years ago with no honors, accolades, or mention of his service. What a shame.

Wrote... My Dad, Carroll Bennett, who recently passed away from cancer at age 84, was a pilot in the Air Force until he retired in 1963 at McChord AFB, and flew P51's in WWII. He shot down one of the first German jets and had a total of 7 "kills", (also many on the ground). He was in the 504th unit of the 339th Fighter Group, flying out of Station 378 Fowlmere, England. He made many good friends during his 20 years of service and attended yearly reunions of his Group. My sister in law and I will continue the tradition and attend in Dad's name. This year it will be in Washington D.C. We would like to further honor Dad and have his story appear on the Web. What can we do? We have pictures and copies of some of his war stories, etc. Sincerely Carolyn Bennett Salsberry
