hi, I'd love to use
the pic of Bader & willie McKnight in a book
I'm compiling for my dad who is unwell - can
anyone tell me who owns copyright so I can ask
permission? I tried to email the site but the
'mail me' links just open a desktop mail service
which I can't use as I'm on aol. And there is no
actual contact address in the html source code...
cheers. Alternatively does anyone know of a link
to a free-2-use pic of bader other than the
wikipedia one?

Terrific site!
Looking for information about Frank Day and Peter
Clark; both navigators of the 418 Sqn. And here I
found not only some info on Day but great pictures
too! Now, if someone can only dig up a photo
of Peter Clark and his pilot J.B.Kerr (who is on
this site)...

Hello.
I'd
like to say that you have a great site but I'd
also like to add one thing.
The most
scoring Finnish ace, Ilmari Juutilainen, was also
never hit by enemy fire. You might want to add
that next to his photo too. And by never being hit
I mean his plane never being hit, and not the man.
Although with the plane never being hit I doubt
the guy ever got wounded due to enemy fire at
least.

I'm back again Joe because I noticed
something on the U.S Aces. There's this 1 U.S ace
named Henry Brown. He was the lead ace of the
355th fighter qroup with 28.7 kills. He was k.i.a
(this is a guess might be later) most
likely on oc. 4th or 6th. Hope you'll be able to
put him on the list. He'd be above or below
"Gabby". BY

Hello Joe I truly
love your site! It truly desevers 2 thumbs up and
if poisible 4. When I first found your site I
spent hours reading all this amazing infromation
on some of the best fighter pilots of all time. I
also have to say those speaches you found of the
major Alies and Axis leaders and I do agree the
Hitler speech most likely has to be the Jan. 30th,
1933 speech Germany. I'm really addicted to
history. My expertise is ww2 aircraft
identification. Well thats all I have to Joe. BY

Deiter von Eichel
Strieber was A Volkswagen dealer in Modesto,
California in the 1950's and 1960's. 'Deet Eichel
VW'. A very social man and successful in business.
A ladies man, a very fast driver, used to bring
Porches into the country before they had a dealer
network. Also brought two nieces into the country
each year. Bragged about 96 kills in a Rotarian
lunch meeting one time and almost got lynched in
1955.

Excellent sight!!
I'm doing some research on the bombers of England
of WWII as my father flew them and also delivered
them from Toronto. I have his log book ,flight
jacket and wings along with some photos. There is a
restaurant in our town that is making one of its
rooms a "war room" but there are no English models
to acknowledge the role England had. This will
change. Great site and thanks Bob Love

The memory of my
husband's mother's first husband Alex Pietrzak has
been truly honoured on this site - thank you so
very much. This site is a great honour to the many
pilots that flew and fought for freedom and for
that I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I
know that Alex's relations and friends will be
proud of what you have done for his memory. I only
hope and pray that despite the conflicts that
still are happening in 2007 - peace will prevail,
although more will indeed die for the cause's that
our governments feel are necessary. The 1939 - 45
conflict was, I feel a just conflict and I thank
the people who died for us and pray that others
will remember them.

Excellent work.
After reviewing the Aces page for Japan, how/where
was your research conducted for you to conclude
that your estimates on some of the top aces was
around 20? Is this just a rough guess or is there
data which led you to select such a number?
One comment if I may; as notorious as the
Japanese pilots claims were/are, it seems to match
up with their erratic flying habits mentioned by
allied pilots in the early years of the war.
Again, excellent job and a new
'bookmarked' site for me! Thank you.

Your website really
cool, and i really like it, i see nowhere you'r
mention to the mexican pilots of WW2. In fact
there were many mexican pilots in WW2, fighting in
the lyte gulf (sry for incorrect spelling) and
were bomber pilots in the bombing of Berlin and
japan.I've seen this b4 on a website frgot which
oe though As well as theIwo Jima and okinawa.
Although they came in late at late 1943-1945 they
made a diffence. Thank you and keep up the
aviation
