Transfered to USMC after the Japanese attack on Pearl
Flew with the famed Black Sheep Squadron
Flew briefly for Israel in 1948
Did questionable work in and out of S. America
Robbed a few banks in the 50's
Went to prison in 1959 - got 15 years, did 8
Released in 1967

Cousin John Magee also joined the RCAF.
He got his wings in Canada but was killed in a flying accident in England
but not before he penned the now-world-famous poem
