_________________________________________________ On 19 November 1944, while flying Spitfire # PV245, he lead a group of four 412 Squadron Spits which dive-bombed a target near Veen, Germany. After the bomb-run, they continued on an armed reconnaissance. They were attacked by approximately forty FW190s in the Bochodt area of Germany. Amidst the chaos that ensued, one lucky pilot managing to get his damaged ship into some clouds. The other three were not so lucky. Charron's Spitfire was shot down near Haltern at Sythen, Germany. He was buried at Sythen, exhumed, and reburied in the Reichswald Forest War Cemetery, Kleve, Germany. _________________________________________________
