KIA over Larissa Greece 15 April 1941
- exactly 2 months after his brother died

Brother Geoffrey Fylton Mackie J3470, RCAF pilot,
was KiFA 15 Feb 1941 in Ontario - age 21

MACKIE, JOHN FELTON F/L (P) 39886 - Royal Air Force. From Regina, Saskatchewan. Killed In Action April 14, 1941 age 25. # 33 Squadron (Loyalty). Hurricane aircraft was taking off when it was shot down by an enemy ME-109 fighter aircraft. Flight Lieutenant Pilot Mackie was an ace having destroyed seven enemy aircraft. He is buried at Eleusis, Greece.
