INNES, F/L Bruce Evans (J16925) - Distinguished Flying Cross - No.402 Sqn.
Award effective 3 September 1945 as per London Gazette dated 14 September 1945 &
AFRO 1672/45 dated 2 November 1945.

Flight Lieutenant Innes has completed two tours of operational duty. He has attacked numerous ground targets and has destroyed three enemy aircraft and damaged others. He has also shown outstanding keenness and determination in engaging the enemy which have set a fine example to all who have flown with him.

Private and Lance Corporal [1937-40]
in Prince Albert and Battleford Volunteers.
1938 - graduated from Battleford Collegiate Institute
1939/40 - attended the University of Saskatchewan.
Enlisted in Saskatoon, 1940
Called for active duty 16 October 1940.
No.1 Manning Depot, Toronto, 16 Oct. to 9 Nov. 1940
Assigned briefly to guard duty at Ottawa.

No.1 ITS (graduated 7 February 1941),
No.3 EFTS London, Ont.(graduated 10 April 1941)
No.9 SFTS Summerside, PEI (graduated 15 July 1941)
Arrived in UK, 15 September 1941.
No 55 OTU - 7 Coctober 1941, Unsworth, England
Overseas continuously until October 1946,
18 November 1941 - 402 Squadron, Hurricane a/c
4 May 1941 - Spitfire Vb a/c
17 May 1942 - dogfight w/ 3 FW190's shot down breaking leg.
Rescued by airsea rescue from the English Channel
20 December 1942 - Rejoined 402 Squadron
9 February 1944 - Staff pilot in the UK
2 December 1944 - 1 July 1945 - 402 Squadron [Spit X1V]
1 July 1945 - 15 July 1945 - 412 Squadron
8 September 1945 - 28 February 1946 - CO 411 Squadron
